The Wooden Language

We look down to the language used not so long ago by our predecessors during the communist regime, as we know we can do better than that.

Professional life is quite demanding nowadays: one has to comply with more and more rules and procedures, be prepared to work under pressure and handle tight deadlines. Being a great relationship manager requires, among other things, excellent communication skills. Working hard to meet expectations, we are aware that proactive approach is the key to success: we are expected to anticipate clients’ needs and offer them a customer service that differentiates us from the competitors in our area of expertise. It’s even better if we can think outside the box and come with an innovative business idea. Our TO-DO list is constantly updated and sometimes we must admit that duties and responsibilities become overwhelming. In order to make sure that tasks are performed and the project is successfully delivered, the best solution is to delegate responsibilities. We can only hope they will be timely and accurately fulfilled through effective teamwork.

We also know that work-life balance is important: besides the professional ones, we need personal achievements as well. Studies show that it’s equally rewarding to get out of our comfort zone and do things we’ve never done before. First of all, we must focus on positive thinking – there are plenty of meditation techniques that can teach us how to be happy. Starting a morning exercise routine is the least we can do for a fit, healthy body. Cultivating our emotional intelligence is another one of our goals. Permanently maintaining a politically correct behavior should always be on our mind.

Sometimes we take a break and wonder: is the wooden language chosen to divert attention from sensitive issues, or does it just disguise poverty of thought?
